Hi,
My 2620 router just freaked out and it keeps rebooting on and on and on!
(It's not a production router!)There is no way to stop this-similiar to auto
reboot in nt when it crashes. Can someone please advise as to what's going
on? Is there a ctrl-break kind of key to stop this?
Please help.

Make sure all your interface cards are firmly seated -- turn it off first
off course :)

might be a problem with the image.

I've heard that improperly inserted DRAM can cause this problem. We had a
router that did that once and we just replaced it under a service contract.
I never did find out what the actual cause in that case was.
Good luck!

You more than likely have an IOS image on the router that the router
doesn't have enough RAM to use. This happens a lot when you put certain
IOS images on 2600 routers with less than 24 megs of ram.
What you need to do is hit break when it first starts to boot up and use
tftpdnld to grab the ap
Hi,
I am trying to figure out what's wrong with a 2620 router that keeps
rebooting on and on and on...Initially, I did the Ctrl-Break on startup, got
into the router, configured the startup-config file and set the
config-register to 0x2102. Everything went fine and it was working. Today

I had the same problem with one of my 2502s, I just called tech support and
they asked me to open the router up and re-seat some cards. I'm sure if you
call them they will tell you to do the same.
Good luck,

Type a 'sh ver' after when the router reboots by itself and see in
the command's report the reason for the last reboot.

You want to pull out all the cards and see what
happens, if the same thing happens, I will tftp a new
flash; if it does keep rebooting without any card on
it, then put the card back one by one, it worked for
me once.
Good luck.
