Nop,
Having a FastEthernet interface is a must have for what you are doing.

There is a good tool here:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/CompNav/Index.pl?Introduction=True
Use Search by Features
and choice 2500 product family
In avialible features,
no IEEE 802.1Q vlan could be selected.

I want to create some logical subinterfaces on the 2500 that correpond to
VLANs, as a way of segmenting traffic.
TIA,

I don't think you can do that on a 10M interface. Has to be a fast ethernet
interface.

Hi,
I made a mistake making that statement. With the new IOS codes, 12.x, you can
create subinterfaces. :-O

I have a couple of 2500's running 12.1(15) enterprize code, and they still
do not allow for encapsulation on Ethernet interfaces. According to the
documentation, encapsulation is supported only on FE interfaces. I have
heard that the 2610s support it, however. Anyone else have additional
ethernet
interface.
