A/S serial port connecting to console port.

Any one know how to setup the connection from A/S serial port on 2523 to the console port? I got a cisco2523. It has 8 A/S serial ports. The A/S serial ports are set to "physical-layer async". I am wondering whether they can be used to connecting to a cisco console port. If that works, I will
