We have a Compaq file server connected at 100Mb full duplex to a switch.
They are directly connected by a single cable (7 ft.), and we are seeing
align errors and crc errors coming from the server. We've replaced the
cable and still see the errors.
What might be some other causes of these err

If you have a box with Linux you can install Ethereal. I've used it for a
long time and it's good for finding problems. Best part is you don't need to
beg your boss for money for it. You can find it at www.freshmeat.net

I've seen similar when one or both ethernet ports are set to autosensing. It
was resolved by setting them
