This may be too basic, but I know that a bad cable can sometimes give an
erroneous link light. If pins 1 & 2 are good but 3 & 6 not, it will give you
a link light but you won't be able to receive data. . . ??

hi all,
i can't ping to any host in the LAN although the fa0/0 shows up,up. sh int
fa0/0 described that there was a tremendous amount of interface reset, and
input rate is 0 what does it mean..? i did a shut/no shut on the the
interface fa0/0, then only i can ping to all LAN hosts...anybody pls
