Hello, Have 2 routers with isis area passwords configured....One has #area-password FRED and the other #area-password Fred..... Adjacencies form (as explained) but the routes area exchanged too!! This should NOT happen as the passwords don't match even though they are in the same area. Incidentally, a 3rd router in another area NOT configured for any authentication see all other routers?? This is as it should work. NO problem...But shouldn't this be thought of as a weakness in ISIS authentication?? Any ideas. Thanks!! Sincerely, CN
BTW: I am following NetMaster Class' paper on Isis authentication. Got to go back and check Doyle now... _________________________________________________________________ Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=65508&t=65508 -------------------------------------------------- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
