Try and clear the config. Use "o/r0x42 at the > prompt and reload to bypass
the config stored in NVRAM. Use the break sequence to get you to the >
prompt if necessary. Sounds like an IOS bug with a router booting and a
token-ring interface activated that is not plugged into a MAU.

After you clear the config don't forget to change the config register back
to 0x2102.
