Modem not connected to con/aux port ?

Hello colleagues, I wonder if any of you know if there is a way to find out by looking at the configuration of a router if there is a modem connected to the aux or console port ? I have a router which should have a modem attached to it, but when I try to dial in, I get a NO CARRIER response. I
