I do not think it is turned on by default. ip multicast-routing is the command to crank it up. by default, it will be sent out of all ports on your Cats. We are using igmp snooping here. It is better than cgmp. We once opened up a ticket to understand the difference. Message Posted at: http:

Hi, I have some users who want to use a multicast application between different vlans. Is multicast forwarding turned on by default on 12.1 IOS? Would'nt I need to config something like PIM, IGMP and CGMP on my cat's and routers to do this efficiently or will the IOS just flood multicast packets ou
