OSPF: ASBR/ABR

Need suggestion: Has anyone ever implemented OSPF where they had their router been an ASBR and a ABR at the same time and if so was there any problems? I have to connect a non OSPF router to my AGG router (ABR). I really don't want to do any redistribution on the ABR routers but the powers that
