To be a CCNP you must have a valid and current CCNA. The CCNP then validates your new status. I found this out when my friend passed all the four exams for CCDP but because he didn't have the CCDA he cannot call himself CCDP until he does. The same applies to CCNP without a CCNA. To get my CCDP I
