Try to download another version of the same image or a another image
alltogether. Your image may corrupted.

Had a similar problem with a 1720. Put in a new flash and still no
work. I have just received my new 1720 and it is up an running.

You could also try copying the file via FTP. Since FTP is a TCP protocol it
has some reliable built into it. I've copied images via TFTP where it told
me it was successful, but when I reloaded it came up in rommon and dir
flash: said bad checksum. Command is copy ftp flash:

I have seen this caused by a bad TFTP server of all things, as well as by a
bad download. Try to re-download and then try 3CDeamon, the best thing EVER
put out by 3Com! :)

I would compare your downloaded image against the checksum (MD5, BSD,
etc) posted on CCO. That would at least tell you if your image is
corrupt or not. Then you could try copying the file over another way.
