I have worked with have CW2K and the 6509 switches and I you are able to
look at the %: utilization, multicast, broadcast, errors, collisions,
between these switches using the minirmon. You can also view the packet per
second per tcp port used, packets per second per xcast (broadcast,
mulitcast, unicast), and packets per second per ethernet error type (CRC,
undersize, ovrsize, fragments, jabbers). Lastly, you can look at the port
speed.

As far as I know all the protocal and application specific information (top
talkers by protocol, etc..)requires a rmon probe.

Subject: Ciscoworks2000/TrafficDirector to baseline Gigabit Etherchannel l
ink between Core Switches

Hi everyone,

I have a question that I would like to ask. Please reply me at your
convenient. My question is: Can I use CiscoWorks2000 and
TrafficDirector to
baseline the link between my Core Switches (Cat 6509) with the Mini-RMON
build-in these switches or I must have a SwitchProbe in order to do it?

Thanks in advance.

Han.
