To the best of my knowledge, Yes. When you give the Show Run command, it shows the current version of IOS at the top. If you give the 'wr mem' command before the 'show run' command, I'm quite sure it will. I am a little grey as to whether or not the Version statement line is "grep'd" from RAM or if it is statically saved to the config file in NVRAM at the time of a Wr Mem though.
