I use Chat-script to initiate the modem: { chat-script A "" "ATK" OK "ATDT \T" CONNECT \c } and then apply this script to interface AUX 0. Problem: If I use IOS 12.5, then it works fine. But for IOS 11.2(17), it does not work. For testing purpose, I do the following: 1. If I reverse-telnet into the modem and apply " ATDT 12345678" command, then the modem can make the call. 2. From router, I use " chat-script A 12345678". Again, for IOS 12.5, it works fine. But for IOS 11.2(17), it doesn't work. 3. Then I turn on "debug chat" and "debug dialer" to see what happens. I find that for IOS 11.2(17), the chat-script sends the string "ATDT \T" and then expect "CONNECT". But the modem never makes any call. Then it times out and disconnect the call !!! But for IOS 12.5, the chat-script sends the string "ATDT \T <12345678>" and then also expects "CONNECT". But this time, it makes the call and succeed. I'm really exhausted with the above problem.
