I use a lantronix terminal server. I plug all the console into the terminal server and then when I need console access I telnet to the terminal server and choose the device from a menu (built by you the admin) or telnet to the port on the terminal server that the device is attatched to. -Ori

I did this same thing but much cheaper. I had a Xyplex terminal server. Configured each port as needed and cabled to the various console ports. Built a menu so I could telnet or dial into the terminal server and choose which device I wanted to connect to. Worked great. You can do the same thing

why not just get a Console Management Switch? It's much cheaper than buying a router to manage other routers. Here's a pretty good brand: WTI, their website is at www.wti.com The cheapest one I think is a 4 port cosole that costs around $90.00 at CDW. these boxes have a 10BaseT interface so you
