The network statement is used on the originating router. For the classful routing protocols, the network statement should use the classful address. In the case you mention, 10.0.0.0. This means RIP, RIPv2, and IGRP. EIGRP used to be that way. Not sure if that changed in the 12.x IOS releases. F
