Have you tried Internet Authentication Services that ships with Windows
2000?
I have a couple of client sites running it with Cisco dial-in gear and no
complaints so far.

local and/or pass-thru authentication to NT domain(s). They provide a full

The IAS (Infernal Authentication Service) that ships as an "Option Pack"
add-in for IIS 4.0 works pretty well. If you click around in MS IIS
"downloads" section, there is an upgrade
that allows a few more options..Its not the world's greatest, but its free
