could it be that your network suffers from occasional power outages ?
Do a ´show stacks´ and post the output, I have access to the Cisco stack
decoder, maybe that reveals something.

Bad Memory or a bad Serial connection are the first two that come to mind,
but perhaps a buggy IOS revision.
Have the router had it's IOS updated recently?
Your first couple of steps to figuring this out is to:
A) turn on logging and collect data on a remote Syslog server for analysis,
B) do a
Lots of things, bad IOS, (is there such a thing;) faulty hardware,
someone typing test crash and selecets their favorite crash. A sh
logg and sh ver mixed in with a show stack may help understand. Also
look thru a crashinfo file that was probably created on your flash.
