Phil,

The command:

ip tacacs source-interface loopback 0

is what you are looking for.

Subject: TACACS loopback problem ?

Greetings,
I've come across an issue with TACACS whereby
when you require authentication for a router, the
router uses the nearest interface to the TACACS Server
and thus uses this interfaces IP address for its
Source Address.

Now if this link goes down. The routing protocol
decides on using the next nearest interface to get to
the TACACS Server. Quite right to. However, this
source IP address fails part of the authentication
process.

My question is : Can a loopback address be used
instead of the nearest interface ?
And what is the command to achieve this, if it is
possible.

Regards,

Phil.
