Dialer idle-timeout Sets the time that the line can remain idle before it is disconnected. Default being 120 seconds. This means that if Site A just made a call to the Corporate HQ, sent it's traffic and now has nothing left to send, the line will remain up for 120 seconds in case some more

The idle-timeout is how long a particular link will stay up with no interesting traffic and with no other calls waiting to be placed. Now let's say you have a BRI with two channels and both are being used, but there is another call waiting to be placed, another dialer that wants to use the BRI.
