I just checked the Cisco TAC IOS feature navigator. It appears that BGP is now supported on the 17xx platform with IOS 12.0 and higher. Cisco also warns that not all features are available on all router models, so you may want to give Cisco pre sales support a call before committing. ( Or TAC, if
