In both the Caslow (1E p. 349) and Solie (p. 625) books it is stated that if you are running RIPv1, and if you put a default route using "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0" on one of the routers, a default route is automagically injected into the RIP process. I am sure I have seen this before working as a

This behavior changed in 12.0T I believe, so it would be seen in 12.1 mainline and beyond. The RIP default route is no longer automagically redistributed into RIP. You need to do it manually with redistribute static...or use ip default-network... Chris ""John Dorffler"" wrote in message [EMAI
