not necessary to then specify an interface to run BGP. Once

advertise, it specifies which interfaces participate in RIP. If you
don't have a network statement, no networks will be advertised because
no interfaces are running RIP.

Hi all,
I see your point John its just that I expected the
router to look at its directly connected interfaces
and to advertise those routes saving me from typing
them in.
