Can anyone tell me why Cisco made the bit syntax different between access lists and the "ip route" command??? Example: permit ip any host 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255 In this case, the zeros in the second column match exactly and the 255 is a wildcard. BUT then: ip route 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 w.x.y.z Here, the 255 matches exactly and the zero looks like wildcard. Is it just me or is this unnecessarily absurd? Any help is appreciated. ===== Dan West -- CCNA __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send instant messages with Yahoo!
