From what I can see on Ciscos' site, you can order two varieties of the 24 port 3550. WS-C3550-24-SMI (Standard Multilayer SW Image) or WS-C3550-24-EMI (Enhanced Multilayer SW Image) Since there is a hefty difference in price, does anyone know for sure which one will be used in the lab?

Al, I was in the CCIE Power session at Networkers on Friday and without a doubt you need the EMI version. To use their words They will now have a 24 port router. The EMI version is the only version that does Layer 3 switching. Message Posted at:
