And it is related to troubleshoot possible memory leakage problem, so it may be interested to you. Attached is the mrtg memory graph of my 7507 (Router A) sampled for this week. 1. You can see on Sat mid night, the free memory dropped to half of it original value. 2. On Afternoon this Wed, we configure the outbound filtering-list of the advertising router (Router B), and an inbound filtering-list at Router A. Then we did a clear ip bgp neighbor. The free memory immediately jumped up. 3. Then on today around 7am, the free memory droppped down again... we did not change the config. 4. I am using a 12.0.16GD My questions are: 1. Is it a typical memory leakage phenomenon related to BGP? 2. How to calculate the amount of memory used: a. by number of BGP prefix received. b. by number of IP routes in route table. 3. What kind of procedure to confirm it is a memory leakage problem? Thanks group.....
