Check the Documentation of of Cisco's website. It should provide you with
all of the default settings and tell you how it really works. I do not
believe that after 1024 the table is flushed. It should simply start
"writing" over the oldest addresses. if I remember right, the time-out is 30
seconds

one of the ciscopress books for ccna2.0 says that when
the cam table of a switch gets filled with 1024
entries , all dynamic entires are flushed and entries
are re-learnt.
does it work that way?
