We do not run IPv6 currently from this site, ipv6 is not enabled on box.

Weird. I'm just starting to play around with Juniper stuff now, and noticed
pretty much the same behavior. Configured a v4 DNS server, but a lookup
resulted in a V6 address trying to be used. Don't have V6 enabled anywhere,
routing table was empty. Figured it was some knob I'm not familiar
DNS can definitely return records over IPv4 (or A records over IPv6).
The type of DNS records returned is completely independent of the L3
protocol the request uses. It doesn't make sense to me though why the box
would use a result when it has no IPv6 interfaces.

Hi folks
I ran into an unpleasant behavior with mLACP or I should say ICCP
specifically
Because ICCP is using targeted LDP session - when I specified new neighbor
(same loopback IP as LDP peer) my existing targeted session with the other
PE gets restarted automatically to negotiate the new ICCP

Hello,
I am seeing these entries in my logs every few minutes. I have done
searches and found only reference to them where it says to copy the error
and sent to Cisco. Has someone seen these before and if so, what needs to
be done to resolve the issue.

I've got a customer with a weird situation.
They have a pretty straightforward setup, two 7200s fronting two cisco
3550-12s, distributing to a series of 48 port 3550s. It's a bit dated, but
works very well for their needs.
They have one special network attached to (only) one of the copper
I'm hoping someone in the community can draw from their experience and
assist. I am extending a T1 using a pair of TC Communications 1630
units, and on the far end is a Cisco 1941W router. When I connect the
router at the far end my T1 continuously bounces, with debug output as
follows:

In doing further investigation, looking at traffic graphs, I see that once
they moved the network to the other switch, all of a sudden vlan1
started seeing all of the traffic that was being routed to that network.
Typically, the only traffic the switches see on vlan1 is traffic actually
Hello,
I would like to know if mpls bgp forward is supported on ISR G2
platform, especially on Dialer interface. It was working in GNS3 with
C7200, but in the real life it could be different.
The goal is set up an MPLS/VPN on several ADSL CPE (this would be an ISR
G2 router), I'd like to

Hi Andy,
One idea is different SDM templates being used. The SDM template is
not showing up in running-config, and changing it requires a reload as
well. I would compare them with 'sh sdm prefer' command. You might be
running out of IPv4 routes, which causes rest of routes to be applied

It is on an XR12410. We are doing pulling netflow data from these routers.

Thanks, I appreciate those suggestions. I verified both the SDM and VTP
configs are identical.
Did you see my followup from earlier? I identified that for some reason
unknown to me, the traffic was hitting the vlan1 interface before exiting
via the L3 interface facing that network, which was
Hi Andy,
The only thing which comes to my mind when you mention vlan 1 is that
by default it is untagged. Therefore you might have some misconfig or
miscabling or not having routing enabled, something similar which
causes traffic from or to a routed port to arrive untagged which is
interpreted as
I currently have this 7204VXR (NPE400) router running
c7200-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T1.bin and we are experiencing memory issues
Could anyone confirm that the following IOS version that is currently on
our 7206VXR (NPE-G2) is compatible:
Version: c7200p-advipservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRE2.bin
Thanks Andrew. I know we are running 4.0.1. I have been looking at
upgrading to a newer version, but been holding off until I have a reason to
go through all that. Aside from all that, we are not seeing any issues on
the routers.

Hi Ali,
No, the G2 is a different type of processor to all of the other previous NPE's
and requires a different binary. The IOS code for a G2 will NOT run on an
NPE-400, it will fail to boot.

Tony.

Hi Guys, We typically get QinQ links from our upstreams for p-t-p links between
our POPs - Upstream carrier does the QinQ and we simply configure a trunk port
to them and tag whatever vlans we need. (i.e. dont need to engage upstream for
the vlans we want to use) We have a new POP, with our
Hi,
802.1ad supports an arbitrary number of tags in the header (not limited to 2),
so in theory it should work. There is obviously MTU considerations to be had
(each extra VLAN tag adds another 4 bytes). What I don't know about is
equipment support of it and whether this should pose any
