Hi Robert,
You need a "router port" (eg. ES20+, SIP/SPA) to do that kind of thing, not a
"switch port" (eg. 65xx, 67xx).
I always liken the switch linecards to be about the same as shoving a c3750 (or
perhaps 4500) as a card into the 6500/7600 chassis. There is a definite
limitation to the amo
nexus 7k 6.1.2
Is there any way to show in log message, when you have and ACL with LOG option,
the actual name of the ACL?
Thanks for any help.

Yes, except for the ones that aren't :)
The 6708 has the DFC integrated and isn't upgradable.

There are listed as upgradeable with the WS-F6K-DFC4-A / WS-F6K-DFC4-AXL

I believe all DFC3 linecards can be upgraded to DFC4 *except* for the
6708, which cannot be upgraded.
Note that 6748 and 6716 need slightly different DFC4 - there's an -E and
-A, same price, but I can't re

No. So, on this card you must upgrade to a DFC4 (can't remember whether
it's -E or -A for the 6716).
Note also that 6708 cannot be upgraded, so cannot be used with Sup2T.

Also look at turning on mls mpls tunnel-recirc
This will work around a hardware bug that could black hole traffic in some
cases. Use this even without mpls.

On the 6k I think EVC configuration can only be accomplishes on ES+ (maybe

Hi Adam,
Many thanks for that, it reads like it would do exactly what we need, however
the switch doesn't accept Ethernet encapsulation:
(config-if)#service instance 10 ethernet
(config-if-srv)#ethernet ?
lmi Configure ether lmi parameters
(config-if-srv)#?
Ethernet EFP configuration commands

Easy
The use of tunnel keys can also cause punted packets on 6k

Hi Robert,
I believe you should be able to use the following config for the VLAN 10.
interface Gi1/1
service instance 10
ethernet encapsulation dot1q 10
rewrite ingress tag pop 1 symmetric
bridge-domain 40
interface Vlan 40
ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
check out the following
You can go for flex link feature on your switches.
Hope this helps.

Spanning tree is automatically enabled on the Cisco switches- you don't
need to configure anything. Alternatively, you can use a port-channel but
you would need to configure that.
HP Procurve switches come with spanning tree disabled.

access in the same vlan , and i do not want to configure spanning tree , how to
