about this
Am trying to track any configuration changes done on my device
If I tracked the %SYS-5-CONFIG_I pattern , that will not do any help because
anyone can just access the configuration mode , exit ,
Ooh and forgot to mention very good introductory material is from Cisco live

I was reading about it and it's supported on 4.3.2

You might want to consider TACACS.

I'm looking for recommendations for the best (least buggy) IOS for the
3800x. If anyone wants to share their opinion, or well-known gotchas,
I'd appreciate it. For now, all we really need is basic L2/L3 MPLS,
OSPF, and usual L2 features. Nothing fancy.

I haven't played with EVPN on Cisco yet.
EVPN is supported only on A9ks as far as I know (on A1k only as AF in BGP for
RR functionality).
By all means I'll go with EVPN for all the new deployments the data-plane
scales so much better compared to legacy VPLS.
Though personally I prefer PBB EVPN
