allow the SFP to slide out. I ended up having to push the 'release'
mechanism in with a screwdriver to pop the SFP out. Had to file those
SFPs in the bin.

Just to add my £0.02 worth.
We've been hit by issues in 15.2(2)S with respect to memory leaks in SSH
and also wacky forwarding behaviour in bridge-domains where
double-tagged frames are involved.
Not fun, but looking good thus far on 15.2(4)S2.

Only today I was taking Nick's approach to eeking out 2 x 7204s w/ G2s for
a few more weeks. I removed them from the DFZ and tore down around 120
direct peering BGP sessions. We now send them 8 prefixes each, including
default. TBH, this has had a negligible impact so I await the arrival of

year. I'd be able to tell you better after that.
Hopefully this is a pointer in the right direction though.

Hi Richard,
If you just want to guarantee the availability of the 'Sorry' service
would the secondarySorryServer config line suit requirements? Not true
load balancing but at least more than one 'Sorry' server in the loop.

Hi Mark,
Yes, MQC is another motivation for looking at these and we're an all
Ethernet shop so they do fit well with our requirements in many respects.
