Hi all,
The TelePresence Server data sheet states that the 8710 blade running TP server
software is supported in locally managed mode.
If you convert an 8510 blade to TP server software, does this mean that it also
supports being in locally managed mode?
(WeT doesn't appear to yet support Cond
Hey guys,
I have a requirement to engage Cisco Advanced Services to complete the A2Q
process and for WebEx enabled TelePresence.
I have been trying to obtain the SKUs via my local Cisco contacts without
success.
Does anyone know the correct process to engage AS to perform this function?

I don't see any issues using this for UC. It's running the same blades.
Just simplifies the network/storage connectivity.

correct. heard about it from Account team about 4 months ago. but as we
are going into budget and moving from servers to VM's thought it might be a
good option.

They are supported and the recommended scenario for SRSV now, but not supported
for CUCM fully yet. I believe there is DOD pilot going for on and Specs-based
may be supported, but the size thing Lelio mentions would come into play right
now for general use.

Are you talking about the UCS express? I'd like to be able to get a couple of
those in my ISR-G2s and use those instead of SRST.
However, it comes back to, and this is something new that I heard about only at

I know that the UCS mini is VERY New but has anyone put any cycles into
thinking about it as a UC platform.
For those EDU's / Agencies / etc that have Voice verse server teams, it
looks like a good possibility thou it does remind me of a ICS 7750 ;-(
Thanks

That's the tricky part. I'm not sure if we've got things configured properly to
catch these things. I'm going to have to install the UCCx version of RTMT
(since it's different than the CUCM version for some reason) and see what it
sees.
Thanks for the link.

There's also some MIBs you can watch via SNMP. And I'm guessing the
failure didn't trigger a "Hardware Failure" alert in RTMT?
Here's a doc with some details-

Sorry Lelio, I badly assumed you were virtualized when you stated version 9.

You're on physical servers, right Lelio?
I would check the syslogs using the syslog viewer in RTMT and see if
anything is in there showing the failure. If so, you can set up remote
syslog.

Yea, unfortunately setting the remote syslog config process sucks. I work
in an managed services environment so have to go through and do those for
every new client.

Yes, still physical servers. I'll check out RTMT and syslog and/or remote

Just wondering what all the alarm configuration/definition options are for in
both CUCM and UCCx serviceability pages. It seems like you have to select 20 or
so different options in order to configure everything
I think most people use VMWare to alert to hardware issues, since the
applications don't have visibility into the host server info.

We've had a couple of hard drives go and we've only noticed because we saw an
amber light when we've walked by. Where do I set this type of alarm up? We're
getting application alarms but not these.
Is there a log I can download to see when the drive went bad?
We're live with CUCM and UCCx v9
Cisco only supports the VMware hypervisor and does not support Azure. I am
guessing Azure uses different network card device emulation and Call manager
doesn’t have the correct drivers.

Does Azure give you any sort of remote console access you can use to
troubleshoot?

I have spun up a CUCM 10.5 VM on VMware Workstation, converted it to a
.VHD, and moved it to Microsoft Azure.
When the VM is powered on in Azure, I am not able to ssh to it via it's IP,
but I can do this from my local network when it is a VM.
Has anyone done anything like this before?
