We are currently working on filling an exciting new contract opportunity
for an *DB2 / SQL Admin *position that will be based out in *NYC, NY*.



*Job Title: DB2 / SQL Admin*

*Location: NYC, NY*

*Duration: 6+ Months*



*F2F INTERVIEW IS MUST*



·         Extensive experience with planning, documenting and performing
upgrades and migration, setting up new database environments.  Design and
plan upgrade strategies including coordination with the applications and
business users.  Upgrade plans must include checklist, milestones, complete
checkout, and exercised fallback procedures.

·         Experience in problem analysis and troubleshooting database
related issues.

·         Provide performance tuning support to development teams for
resolving issues with space usage, stored procedures, SQL Tuning and
application monitoring.

·         Analyze and tune SQL statements and indexes; make performance
recommendations to development teams.

·         Understand metadata, metrics, trending, and automation.

·         Advanced scripting skills required.

·         Advise developers for best practice, rollout implementation
support.

·         Work with vendor L2 for tuning recommendations.

·         Implement fixpacks and security patches when required.

·         Participate in disaster recovery exercises.

·         Familiar with Performance Expert and OPM (Optimal Performance
Manager).  Configure, test, and install.

·         Monitor production databases and dbm settings, adjusting for
optimal performance and throughput.

·         Configure DB2 Connect Server and Client, and install ODBC
drivers.

·         Technical expertise in the following desirable:  DB2 z/OS,
Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, MySQL, MongoDB, PERL, Shell Script, Data
Studio, AD.
