We need more experience in server development and strong Linux skills. Most of the people that have been successful their team did not come from an embedded background. Responsibilities: • Design and implement complex software features. • Work with senior and junior members of the team to create and deliver software releases. • Work in a fast-moving environment to move from product requirements to completed product. • Work with the QA team and sometimes the customer to troubleshoot complex issues and then propose and implement solutions to them. • Review code from other software developers and provide constructive and positive feedback. • Work with customers in clarifying requirements and reviewing software design to meet their needs. Qualifications: • 7 plus years of development experience programming in embedded C. Prefer C++ as well. • 7 plus years of experience using and programming in an embedded Linux / Unix OS development environment. • 7 plus years of experience in computer networking, you should have a familiarity with all or most of these protocols: o TCP / IP, UDP, IPv6, 1GMP o Ethernet, ARP, PPP o DNS, DHCP, SIP, NTP, RTP, RTCP • Comfort developing in a Linux environment using the shell, editors, Make, compilers, linkers and other Linux tools. • Comfort troubleshooting complex problems in a large source base in a Linux / C based environment. • Comfort designing features. Discussing and defending your ideas with other team members and presenting your proposals in a team environment. o TCP / IP stacks o L2 and L4 Protocols • Experience with the following technologies would be a plus: o DSL technologies, including ? ADSL ? VDSL ? PTM / ATM ? PPPoE / PPPoA o Wi-Fi o VoiP o Video / HPNA Education / Experience: • BSEE / CS or equivalent is required • Minimum 7 years of software development experience • Complete software lifecycle development experience • Experience in developing software embedded systems • Knowledge of source control management systems such as Perforce, SVN, etc • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
