This is a strong Agile delivery team, so the ability to interface with both IT and business teams is a requirement for the successful candidate. *Skills & Qualifications:* · 8+ years in Java development environment. · 8+ years of experience in a development role · Hands on experience with modern web technologies, architecture, methodologies and tools including Java, Groovy, Web Services (REST), NoSQL, JavaScript, continuous delivery, and automated testing, etc. · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. · Solid grounding in Scrum Agile principles, with demonstrated ability to break down stories and provide estimates. · Effectively participate in and/ or facilitate meetings and drive to expected outcomes. · Demonstrated ability to both mentor and learn from other team members. · Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional projects · Experience with implementation of the Java Spring framework for Web Services. · 5 or more years of application or distributed systems architecture for highly scalable systems · 4 or more years of experience with languages that compile and run on the JVM such as Groovy, Closure or Scala. · Open source development background. · Familiar with NoSQL database (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra). · Continuous Integration environment. · Experience using version control systems such as SVN or Git. · Experience with bug tracking software such as Jira or ClearQuest. · 5 or more years of Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development or Functional Testing · Proficiency with UNIX/Linux command line. · Experience using Wikis as a knowledge system for application development · Experience with caching technologies such as Memcached, ehcache, etc. · Cloud (AWS preferred) services infrastructure environment. · Driven and self-directed. · Conduct peer and code reviews for the development team and provide overall guidance on design and implementation as needed · Previous experience with e-commerce technology initiatives · Background in managing teams of contract resources. · Retail IT experience · College degree in an IT discipline, or college degree and applicable work experience within large scale IT organizations. *Job Title: Build/Release Automation Engineers* *Duration: 6 + Months* *Richfield, MN* *EXPENSES FOR THE F2F INTERVIEWS* *NATURE OF WORK* The DevOps Consultant is responsible for technical leadership and delivery in our DevOps consulting engagements. The consultant assists in the development of enterprise DevOps strategies and leads parts of all of the automated application build and deployment process. Consultants must have strong problem solving abilities, must be able to work both at high and low levels of detail, have excellent communication skills and have experience successfully leading implementation teams. *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Ø Work with the IT Development and other IT team members to refine and clarify requirements for development process automation. Ø Ability to work closely with developers, test automation and performance specialists, release management and infrastructure specialists on defining and improving source control, branching and merge strategies Ø Supports development of process automation initiatives and projects. Ø Use appropriate technologies such as Puppet, Chef, Hudson, AnthillPro, uBuild, uDeploy, Jenkins, Electric Cloud etc. to perform build and deployment management Ø Maintain expertise in the area of architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products. Ø Execute Proof of Concepts on behalf of configuration management, CI/CD (continuous integration / continuous deployment) practice, assessing new products and methods, developing and implementing appropriate practices across multiple development environments. Ø Continuously evaluate and recommend improvement to CI/CD processes Ø Design, document and help optimize the CI/CD strategies in order to reduce costs while ensuring quality. Ø Effectively develop and communicate technical solutions to unique client issues. Ø Identify opportunities for new business and current client expansion. *QUALIFICATIONS* Ø BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent education and experience. Ø Proven track record with a minimum of 5 years software/computer engineering experience. Ø At least 6 months of structured software development experience, preferably with current languages like Python, Ruby or Java and preferably using Agile software development methods. Ø Flexible, continuous learner and knowledge sharer, excellent communicator, works well in team environment, appreciates challenge, comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving. *PREFERRED* Ø Experience with system administration of Windows and/or Linux servers including shell scripting. Ø A year or more of experience architecting and building solutions leveraging DevOps tools such as Puppet, Chef and Jenkins, Git, etc. Ø Experience with Chef (open source and Enterprise) in implementation and configuration.
