Oracle ERP DBA

12 - 18 month contract
Manager Notes:
Rick and only Rick (hiring manager) will do the interviewing. HR not involved.
He only needs mid-level for both positions which he considers 2+ years with
Oracle EBS.
Oracle R12 MUST for both positions.
Needs go-getter for both positions
COMM SKILLS MUST BE GREAT - 9/10 min
Both positions are contract only 12-18 months
Duties and Responsibilities
*Supports installations of Oracle Databases (R11 and R12 databases), OBIEE,
SOA, WebLogic, OBIA, Tuning Pack, Diagnostics Packs. Lifecycle Management
Packs,
supports RMAN, DataGuard, RAC and ASM
*Configures database and storage management.
*Leads and completes assigned complex and/ or long-term projects within
budgetary
and scheduling guidelines.
*Oversees, prioritizes and coordinates all DBA related activities (clones,
application of patches, installations/upgrades) within the DBA team and assists
team members with analysis and problem resolution pertaining to all instances.
*Develops and maintains the database management plans and models consistent
with the needs of individual business units and corporate entities.
*Collaborates with the DBA team to ensure the daily database activities are
carried out on all ORACLE instances (production, testing, acceptance,
development
and other support instances).
*Ensures DBA support is provided for escalated SR's with ORACLE support.
*Develops schedules and timelines based on resources and complexity of
projects.
*Participates in disaster recovery planning and drills.
*Creates backup and recovery strategy, database consistency checking.
*Provides weekend and off hours support, as necessary.
*Operates within established internal audit, Sarbanes Oxley and organizational
change control and compliance framework.
*Operates on a daily basis in line with key controls, policies and procedures.
*Provides 4th level Database System support (administration) on multiple
platforms.
This may include storage management, recovery and performance issue resolution.
It may also include managing other technologies such as web servers, middleware
products like SOA, and single sign on technologies.
*Reviews and tunes initialization parameters, memory structures and physical
data layout for optimal performance.
*Troubleshoots complex technical problems and recommends alternatives.
*Manages day-to-day operational service requests.
Requirements
*Minimum of 6 years of experience as Oracle database administrator with 4
years of experience managing Oracle E-Business Suite and 3 years managing an
Oracle RAC database
*Minimum of 3 years of experience with significant depth of knowledge in the
specific domain (ERP / CRM / EAI) and development methodologies
*Experience with AIX, UNIX / Linux OS and Windows environments and HTTP, DNS,
TCP/IP
*Experience performing stored procedure and database tuning, handling
security,
backups and recovery
