Metro Area* *Contract End Date: **Six (6) months from hire date* *Estimated Hours: **1,040.00 - 1,200.00* *Job Description and Duties: * My client has an opening for a Principal Database Developer located in the Washington D.C Metro Area. *Roles and Responsibilities:* - Develop and thoroughly test PL/SQL programming code - Participate in Requirements gathering, system/business analysis, gap analysis - Create low level design specifications, acceptance test documents and project documentation - Maintain code version(s) – Version control *Minimum Experience: * - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience (focus in technical field a plus, for example: engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field) plus at least 10 years of professional experience *Required Skills/Abilities:* - 7+ years’ experience designing, creating and developing Oracle database systems - Experience in developing logical and physical data models using data modeling tools such as Rational Data Architect, Erwin, Oracle Developer and other tools - Strong programming/development skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) and batch coding skills such as Bulk collections, dynamic SQL and parallel processing - Solid experience designing partitioned and non-partitioned tables, indexes, temporary tables and external tables to maximize storage and performance - Experience designing OLAP systems - Strong SQL development, SQL analytics and performance tuning skills - Excellent analytic, troubleshooting and performance tuning skills - Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills - Ability to analyze complex and large amounts of data - Strong communications skills (both verbal & written) - Develop and enhance ETLs, PL/SQL Stored Procedures and other Oracle objects as needed - Experience in RA and very large database environments *Preferred Experiences:* - Subversion, TOAD, SQL Developer, Informatica and ETL.
