Possibility for extension.* Manager will conduct phone and then in person interviews. Local and non-local candidates-- Skype interview okay. *Specifically there is a major migration going on where they are moving out of the one office and consolidating into the Eagan office. They need this contractor to take over that and help design and build new systems and services. *Manager is looking for * *1) ability to manage team ( at least 2 years of managerial experience/ability to direct resources * *2) Strong LINUX / UNIX and Windows experience. Contractor will be reporting to the “Head of Hosting Engineering.” This is a 6 person team. Looking for someone that can take charge of the project, with an independent and take charge attitude. * Our client, a well-recognized global information services organization, seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer to be responsible for executing Engineering team goals and objectives and projects. All Engineering team members also serve as Tier 3 backup to Application Operations. This person evaluates new technologies, analyzes issues, and resolves complex technical problems for internal customers including: Development, QA, Hosting Operations and Services. Active participant in new requirement and technology architecture planning and design discussions. Participation in a team environment is heavily relied upon, as is the ability to work independently. Responsibilities: - Use problem solving skills to resolve complex technical problems. - Design and implement solutions to Development and Hosting Operations that streamline and automate standard processes and improve the overhead to support and maintain infrastructure. - Work with Development and other Engineering team members to architect and design infrastructure to support existing and new platforms. - Work with DCO teams to understand architectural models supported and services provided. - Install, configure, and support internal environments for the development and testing of GRC products. - Dev Ops - Construct, operate, and maintain build and packaging systems for GRC products. - Includes administration of automated build systems. - Administer Source Code Management system. - Can communicate (verbally and in written format) at high levels in an organization. - Create and manage technical documentation for product installation and administration. - Assist with technical documentation for product installation and administration. - Organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and projects. - Researches new software tools and develops solutions to common problems. - Perform other duties as assigned. - Occasional weekend or off-hours work required. - Some on-call support is required. - Researches new software tools and develops solutions to common problems. Qualifications: - BA/BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer Science, BCIS or related field or commensurate work related experience. - Minimum 3 years relevant software experience, 5 years desired. - Solid working experience (5+ years) with configuration management (source code management tools).
