This would be a great addition... But instead of a separate list why not use
the developers list for that.

I was thinking of making a mailing list that would get cvs commit
information each time there is a commit or maybe dump the cvs log into
it. One would not even have to subscribe to that list all the time,
but view the archive if you wanted to find out fairly recent commit
