Steve - Thanks! I think I need to resolve some of the performance issues (in the other thread); I originally turned on OnAccess for my entire home directory - THAT was a mistake.    But I'll definitely go through the archives. Dan On 12/19/2017 02:25 PM, Steven Morgan wrote: Dan, I like O

Dan, I like OnAccess myself, protecting such things as email, download directory, web cache, or wherever else files come into you system. There have been several blogs and list discussions on using OnAccess effectively. Check out the [clamav-users] archives. Hope this helps, Steve On Tue, Dec 19

As you wish. Both are fully configurable. As a Linux user you should be able to do this well. 20.12.2017 00:07, Dan Rawson пишет: > Sorry if I wasn't clear . . . > > Do you do "OnAcess" scanning for the whole drive, or just some > sub-directories? > Do you do scheduled scanning for the whole driv

OnAccess will do by running daemon. Cron will run clamscan/clamdscan by own schedule. Trivial. 19.12.2017 23:50, Dan Rawson пишет: > Yuri - > > Thanks - how do you split that up (ie, which parts of the file system > are "OnAcess" vs scheduled)? > > Dan > > On 12/19/2017 12:46 PM, Yuri wrote: >>

Did some additional testing: "clamscan -v --stdout -r" and "clamdscan -v --stdout" take approximately the same time.  They both use all of a single core on my quad-core machine (25% of the available CPU cycles). Running "clamdscan -m -v --stdout" completes in approximately 1/4 the time, but it

How can I count the files/objects scanned?  This works fine with clamscan ("-v --stdout -r"); I get a summary showing the number of files, etc.  But when I do the same with clamdscan, all I get is: # clamdscan -v --stdout /home/drawson/Downloads/eicar.com: Eicar-Test-Signature FOUND --
