after recent update to 0.91.1 we started to get clamav-milter timeouts for some small text messages:
sm-mta[2821]: [ID 801593 mail.error] l7112wKD002821: Milter (clmilter): timeout during data read sm-mta[2821]: [ID 801593 mail.info] l7112wKD002821: Milter (clmilter): to error state sm-mta[2821]: [ID 801593 mail.info] l7112wKD002821: to=<***>, delay=00:15:00, pri=92336, stat=Please try again later eventually after being deferred several times the message will go through and the problem can be reproducable (but not always). i tried to truss clamav-milter when it hangs, but it did not get me anywhere. no messages in clamavlog file. current times in sendmail.cf are pretty long (to accomodate 75MB messages): T=C:5m;S:4m;R:15m;E:16m one of the messages which caused clama-milter to go to coma had a relatively wrong line: ^begin quoting which would trigger an error "LibClamAV Error: Message is not in uuencoded format". more on that in: https://wwws.clamav.net/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=586 other messages don't have any obviously wrong lines, but usually have several included/forwarded messages with From lines. downgrading to 0.91 fixed this problem for several days and now it started to happen again. restarting clamav-milter didn't fix it even temporary. any idea what might cause that? thank you, irina tsimring sysadmin at university of california, san diego _______________________________________________ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
