Which jvm does the --current-- classpath run with ? orp doesn't seem to work. R. Jaos (http://www.oberon.ethz.ch/jaos/) works with classpath 0.03 and an own implementation of java/lang/Character. Jaos is currently in an advanced alpha phase. Textual IO and file support are implemented;
