Yeah, I have looked at this already (because I would need a pnm/ppm provider, and I wanted to see how much work this might be. Or could we just import the freehep pnm stuff?). BTW: javax/image/package.html still claims imageio to be based on ImageMagick, and it took me some time to figure out that gdk-pixbuf is used now...
