Please give testing clonezilla live (1.2.1-35) a try. There are some improvement about this, especially for Thinkpad's hidden data between MBR and 1st partition. Remember to check "-j2" option (default is on already) when do a disk to disk clone. If you give it a try, please let us know your res

I have two Lenovo Thinkpad T61 laptops. I load the Clonezilla image on one laptop and everything boots fine. The second laptop boots to the rescue partition. The second laptop's has its boot partition as sda2 instead of sda1. It also changed the partition type from Compaq Diagnostics to FAT32. If
