Hi, I've been playing with the Fedora 22 cloud spin and turned off cloud-init so that I have the default cloud package layout. I noticed that /etc/login.defs is set to ENCRYPT_METHOD MD5 similarly /etc/libuser.conf has crypt_style = md5
The regular Fedora 22 default for password encryption seems to be SHA512 but I couldn't turn anything up as to why cloud images had made this change.
