- stop management server
- null out mgmt_server_id for hosts in host table

You can try restart network with clean checked in UI, it will try to destroy
Virtual router on this network and create a new one.

I assume you are using XenServer,
Looks like you didn't install xs-tools in windows XP VM, without xs-tools guest

This is a bug, please file a bug for CS 4.1,
Try below workaround,
- in mysql CloudStack DB, find the network entry in networks table, the network
entry has "guest_type" with Public
- set "network_domain" to "pilot.cs.ha" for this entry
- stop/start virtual router VM
- reboot user VM

Hi Nick,
This issue was fixed in 4.1
Try below workaround for 4.0.0.
- stop cloud Agent service on KVM host
- execute iptables -F, ebtables -F on KVM host
- uninstall ebtables package on KVM host
- start cloud Agent service on KVM host
After uninstall ebtables package, CS thinks this KVM host c

That's interesting!
I'm not expecting 5x improvement.
Is virtIO enabled in KVM guest?
From information I got, may be wrong,
Xen PV is a little bit faster than KVM virtIO
But KVM with vHost + virtIO should be comparable with( might be better) Xen PV
in terms of IO performance, since with vHost v
Hi Ahmad,
CS doesn't support export CPU topology to guest VM even though some hypervisor
supports it.
Like you described, this feature might be critical to some Guest OSes , like

I assume inetbr0 is on VLAN, one possibility is VLAN may not be configured
correctly.
Normally I do following test to verify VLAN.
Configure a IP for inetbr0 on KVM host, this IP should be on the same network
with gateway.
ping gateway from KVM host

In DeployVMCmd API, looks like you can specify IP in default network.
@Parameter(name=ApiConstants.IP_ADDRESS, type=CommandType.STRING,

private String ipAddress;
I'm not sure if it works, you might want to try it out.

Is 192.168.56.10 the ip address of ubuntu in virtual box?
Is XCP running on ubuntu?

For shared network in advanced zone, it is one.
For isolated network in advanced zone, it is one public vlan + number of

Hi Andi,
In Advanced zone, you can create a shared network, which is created on
public-network, you can specify vlan id and domain for this network, maybe DNS
server.

Does that mean there is one NIC in guest VM, and there are more than one IPs on
this guest NIC?
Can you elaborate more how you are going to implement it?

I guess you didn't use RHEL 6.1 guest OS type,
XenServer 6.0.2 doesn't support install RHEL 6.1 from CDROM,
Workaround,
1. install RHEL 6.0 by using guest OS type RHEL 6.0
2. update RHEL 6.0 to RHEL 6.1

For root disk thin-provision, some snapshots are used as templates.
After you create a VM1 on a template, the VHD chain looks like,

After you create a VM2 on the same template

What's the network configuration in XenServer host?
Is it bridge or openvswitch?
You can get the info by

We removed HVM from UI intentionally due to following reasons,
1. most users may not know what's HVM, it is confusing.
2. for vmware, it doesn't care about HVM, it can boot any OS on any x86_64 host.
3. for kvm, HVM support is required.
So it is hard for user to configure hvm for template/iso.

Hi Clayton,
You are right, 8 host is a rule of thumb, 16 is hard limitation.
Cloudstack uses XAPI to communicate with XenServer Pool, CloudStack uses XAPI
much more heavily than user uses XAPI though XenCenter/CLI,
Which includes some regular XAPI call, like VM state Sync,

Hi Jewel,
XenServer doesn't support install PV Debian and Ubuntu from ISO.
So if you create VM from ISO and use Debian or Ubuntu guest OS type, it won't
work.
You can use "Other Linux (32-bit)" guest OS type, but it results a HVM VM,
which XenServer doesn't support officially.
