There seems to be a number of references online to a variable named CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX_INITIALIZED_TO_DEFAULT which is recommended for checking if CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX has been overridden or not. This variable is not mentioned in CMake's documentation, but some of those online references claim
