The following issue has been SUBMITTED. ====================================================================== http://www.cmake.org/Bug/view.php?id=15298 ====================================================================== Reported By: Gregory Kramida Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: CMake Issue ID: 15298 Category: CMake Reproducibility: N/A Severity: feature Priority: normal Status: new ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2014-12-10 15:49 EST Last Modified: 2014-12-10 15:49 EST ====================================================================== Summary: Generate Eclipse Workspace instead of Project Description: CMake generates entire solutions for Visual Studio, with multiple targets becoming separate projects. In Eclipse, a "Workspace" is equivalent to a Visual Studio "Solution", within which you have multiple projects.
It's unclear to me why CMake by original design generates only a single project for eclipse, not an entire workspace(=solution) with separate projects for each target, which, in my view, would be much more intuitive and would make separate target compilation much simpler from the get-go. I thought it prudent to bring this issue / feature request to the table for discussion. In my view, the right solution would be to deprecate the current mode of "single-project" generation (yet leave it available as a legacy option for backward-compatibility, perhaps simply as a separate generator entry), while changing the default behavior to generating an entire eclipse Workspace. ====================================================================== Issue History Date Modified Username Field Change ====================================================================== 2014-12-10 15:49 Gregory KramidaNew Issue ====================================================================== -- Powered by www.kitware.com Please keep messages on-topic and check the CMake FAQ at: http://www.cmake.org/Wiki/CMake_FAQ Kitware offers various services to support the CMake community.
