Yes sedation is the best way to go. My first one was a nightmare. It felt like the doctor had his knee in my back trying to get it done. He said the marrow was so compacted. Now I get sedated every time I get one. I don't remember it and I am a little sore for a few days after. SuzanAllyson Morris

Your experience is probably more typical than atypical. My experience is similar to yours. I am hoping to change from Gleevec to dasatinib as soon as it becomes available, probably this coming June. The anecdotal evidence strongly suggests that dasatinib is just as effective as Gleevec (even mo

You are not whining, your quality of life has been significantly diminished by these side effects and you're fed up with it. My husband has CML and has many of your side effects, although not quite as bad, and I think they can really wear on you when you have to deal with them day in and day out.

Hi Sandy, My husband hates BMBs as well, in fact, he just postponed his yearly BMB and I have to gently coax him again to have it done for his own good. Roy asks for sedation during the BMB and that helps him not feel the pain during the BMB. I am wondering if that may be an option for Randy.
